CARDI-B GAVE BASKETBALL WIVES LA ANGEL BRINKZ HER FIRST BIG GIG IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY

In a recent interview with Page Six, Basketball Wives LA cast member Angel Brinks opened up about her first opportunity to design and style outfits for break-out stars. Brinks revealed that Cardi-B reached out to her after seeing her on an episode of Basketball Wives LA. According to Brinkz, Cardi-B supported her talent after watching the designer get bullied on the show by fellow cast members who did not take her passion for “blinged-out designs” seriously.

Brinkz designed the 2017 MTV Music Awards for the rapper

“I had so much fun with her, she knew at the time what happened with me on the show being bullied and attacked. She was telling me, ‘Girl, I hated watching that happening to you on TV. You deserve so much more respect.’”

Brinkz also recalled when she styled Cardi-B for her first VMA performance on her official Instagram account while shouting out one of her customers who recreated the look for her prom.

“As you may know, we made Cardi B’s romper & matching robe jacket, over 40,000 crystals, for her very first VMA performance! It was my pleasure to remake one for our beautiful client @zeze.jordannn prom! I hope you had a great time, and I think you look beautiful!! ❤️”
